Best Bed Breakdown: Hotel Minneapolis (Serta Suite Dreams)

So, last month we were traveling and got to spend two nights in the Hotel Minneapolis, which had THE BEST BED we'd slept in in a long time. Yes, it was soft, but it didn't freak out our back - there was enough firmness. It was DIVINE. We slept so well. And this, coming from someone who switched to a memory foam mattress a few years back. So, before leaving, we ripped the bed apart to see what it was made of....

Sheets: We were shocked to see that these crisp sheets were actually 50/50 poly cotton! We swear by 100% cotton sheets, but these certainly fooled us for a few nights.

Pillows & Duvet: These were from Pacific Coast, which we've run into in a few hotel rooms before. We buy their down products online for our own home. This is a good resource that many high end hotels use.

Mattress Topper: No name brand here. Just a regular old poly/cotton topper made for hotel use by Guest Supply LLC

Mattress: Here's the heart of the matter - it's a Hilton Hotel actually, so their mattresses are Hilton Suite Dreams Mattresses with boxsprings made by Serta Perfect Sleeper. Pretty impressive.

Frame: A regular old metal frame. Nothing to see here.

All of this is available at Hilton's online shop -, but, of course, you should track these things down separately if you want to save some $$.

Touches we liked? When you check in they give you a hot chocolate chip cookie. Random? Yes. Good? Yes. But the "Sweet Dreams" pillow on our bed we could lose.

How can you trademark "Sweet Dreams"???????
