- I love how wide it is and how it opens right into our front room; it doesn't feel claustrophobic to walk in the door with armloads of stuff. It's also a great space for a little extra storage and a nice welcoming vignette.

- I use dressers for everything. They function as storage as well as a console for putting things on, and they're not very common outside of bedrooms, so it's actually a conversation piece as well.
Artwork sets an immediate feel for your home. I have several pieces of my own, some abstracts from my kids, a few Klimt prints in beautiful frames, and a cheerful model skeleton in mine. I hope this sets the tone for my house as artistic, fun, and a little quirky.
My family enters our home through the mud room at the back near our garage, so our daily life clutter is confined their while the front entry is where guests come in. This allows me to keep it an open and uncluttered space that doesn't immediately overwhelm visitors.
