Chimney-less Fireplace is Chic and Temporary

Chimney-less Fireplace is Chic and Temporary

Fireplaces have always been an in-demand home feature for buyers and renters alike. Something about cozying up with a blanket, a book and cocoa next to the fire is irresistible. For those of you with fireplaces or plans to install them, move along. This one is intended for us renters who want an occasional fireplace, much like the favorite occasional tableā€¦

Conmoto mashes the technology of smokeless fire and a weather resistant casing together to bring you a portable, briefcase-styled fireplace. Glass panes are held in place by magnets to only open when you when to ignite the flames, rather than your carpet or sofa.

While the idea is a great one, some technicalities get in the way. The price tag is hefty, and we can only imagine that a portable fire burning inside your unit might violate your lease. We could see this put to better use in an outdoor area where there might not be enough space for a fire pit.

Dimensions: H 50 x W 70 x D 20 cm

P.S.: Conmoto also has some other fireplace solutions that are less portable, but just as great-looking.

My favorites are Dots (left), a seating solution combined with a fireplace, and a wall-mounted shelf unit (below).
