Look!: A Secret Stovetop

Look!: A Secret Stovetop

Sep 10, 2008

We recently enjoyed a weekend getaway in a rented home in New Buffalo, Michigan. The house was great but it had nothing on this vintage oven/stove!

Recessed into the cabinetry, the antique appliance hides away when not in use but where in the world are the burners...?

Thanks to this brochure, we found out that this unique contraption is a Frigidaire Flair from the '60s. We love the old school styling but the best part of encountering this dinosaur is that it still works! We baked a cake and used the stovetop for late morning eggs.

"Infinite Heat" & "Meat Tender"
"See-Level" Dual Oven

The "Roll-To-You Cooking Top" is actually tucked inside the appliance, much like a keyboard tray hides within a desk. Just hit the release button and pull it out for full simmering capabilites.
