Cotton Fabric Illustrated by Eric Carle

Cotton Fabric Illustrated by Eric Carle

Aug 7, 2008

We recently blogged about design influenced by beloved childhood books. We didn't mention Eric Carle specifically but you guys did! You knew what what you were talking about because this beloved author/illustrator has already stepped into our ring. His designs have inspired some fun and nostalgic fabric.

Can't remember Carle? Jump down to for more samples and to be reminded of his greatest work...

Carle's most famous work is probably The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Caterpillar fabric is available but we're more excited about the abstract designs.

We love the bright colors and bold, playful patterns. We're aching to see a chair reupholstered in the numbers, scribble, or color dot fabric. The fruit and junk food design would make great kitchen curtains.

All the fabric is 100% cotton and most patterns sell for $8/yard at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. If you buy, make sure to upload your creation to The Eric Carle Fabric flickr pool!
