Good Questions: Vintage Feed Sack for Upholstery Project?

Hi, AT Boston! This time I am writing with a fabric sourcing dilemma. I love what the team at David Met Nicole has done using old feed sacks to reupholster that chair. I am in the middle of reupholstering a victorian settee myself (pictures after the jump), and I was not super crazy about the sensible ultrasuede I'd picked. After seeing their treatment, I think it would be really special on the antique bones of my couch — total Craigslist find — and I'd like to try it myself...

I've found some gorgeous sack options on eBay, but I would feel way more comfortable if I could physically touch the ones I use before purchasing them; with fabric I go by instinct, which is almost entirely tactile. Is there anywhere I could go that sells these in bulk? I'm relatively new to the area and would appreciate any guidance or help you could send my way. Thanks! Adwoa

This reminds us of fellow blogger Jeanine's Chinese mailbag chair — another alternative typographic upholstery project.

Anyone have any tips on how to get a hold of these vintage feed sacks or mailbags?
