We just signed up for LADWP's Green Power for a Green LA Program, which enables us to support renewable energy by paying an extra 3 cents per kilowatt hour to a percentage of our bill designated by us specifically from renewable energy sources. What this equates to in our real life household energy bill is paying an extra $10/month...

We see this additional fee as an investment into renewable technology, which in conjunction with conservation, might help our city, state, nation and the world tackle both the energy crunch and the environmental impact of growing power demands. And as a nice surprise, the city sent us a couple of warm light producing CFL bulbs as both a "welcome" and "thank you" gift. Interested in joining? Click here to signup.
