Greening Our Habits: Time to Change the Makeup?

9_12_08_lipstick.jpgHaving a green home includes redefining all those little products in the get-ready routine. If you're getting all dolled up for something fun this weekend (and not preparing for Hurricane Ike like half of Texas is), then consider this: would you make the switch to natural/organic makeup, even if it means spending twice as much in some cases?

Not everyone wears makeup. Personally, I tend to wear very little: a mineral powder foundation, Burt's Bees lipgloss, and sometimes eyeshadow. My boyfriend doesn't wear any at all, so I realize this post may not be of any interest to some of you.

But this article from Grist brings up the point that people, myself included, have looked past the tough economy to reach for natural makeup.

If you have a regular makeup regimen, would you consider phasing it all out to use all-natural makeup?

And if you've already taken the plunge for the au-naturale beauty products, be sure to leave tips about your favorite brands.
