LED Lights for Your Home

led2092508.jpgWhile visiting some friends this weekend in California, I realized how much we need more light in our home. I simply don't have time or money to install a Sun-Tek Tube Skylight, but I am thinking some recessed LED canister lights might be a good winter project.

CFL's stick out fairly far, so you need a deep canister to keep them unobtrusive. We have them at work, which is great on the eco-conscious. LED's however, are more compact and are slowly becoming affordable enough to consider. LEDwaves.com appears to have a few great choices for both replacing the bulbs in your canister or for complete recessed canister replacements.

This high 9 watt high power LED Recess Light mounts flush in whatever project you choose. At 9 watts, this LED light puts out the same amount of light as a 70 watt incandescent, with a fraction of the energy consumption.

The PAR-30 LED Light Bulb 14-Watt bulb (first photo) fits into most standard light receptacles. It emits 810 lumens (Neutral white) and lasting for up to 50,000 hours. At $108, it's still out of my price range but as prices continue to drop, that may change in the near future.

See Ledwaves for more styles, colors and options.
