Look! Turn Your iPhone into a Numeric Keypad

One of the annoying things of having a modern laptop is that you're stuck without a numeric keypad. Some power users used to purchase the giant 17" notebooks just to get the numeric keypad. There are small add-on keypads that you can use, but they aren't as sweet as this new iPhone app. If you have a MacBook or a MacBook Pro, you can now get the Balmuda Numberkey iPhone Numeric Keyboard, a perfect app for people needing a numeric keypad.

This little iPhone app is perfect for spreadsheet users. This is an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and it lets you use your mobile device as an ad-hoc numeric keypad. You'll only need to install Balmuda's Numberkey program onto your Mac as well. Next step is grabbing the iPhone app from them for $1.99. The two programs talk via WiFi. This gives you a fully functional 18-key numeric keypad for you Mac, without any wires.

On top of that, Numberkey comes in four different skins, which lets you mix and match with your Mac. They've got black on white, white on black, old school Mac and a new silver one for MacBook Pro users. The only negative that we ca see is that the touchscreen controls don't have any tactile feedback. Naturally, this is Mac only for now. We thought that this is a really great idea. It maximizes the use that you can get out of your iPhone/iPod Touch. It's also pretty neat that you don't have to carry anything extra with you, just the devices that you usually carry around. We also like that this whole setup is wireless. As you know, here at Unplggd, we don't like wires. [via TechnaBob]
