Meredith Kleinman: Hiding That Ridiculously Oversized TV...In Your Dream Home

Some just prefer the comfortable solitude of having 20th century influences hidden; a fine example found on Design Sponge Online's coverage of Meredith's home. Here, she attempts the impossible - keeping her mid-century charm without sacrificing her boyfriend's love of watching soccer games his epic-sized television set.

"The TV room is my latest project. My boyfriend wanted to put a big TV in there so he could watch his soccer (he's English). So this is what I came up with. Of course he wanted nothing too feminine, so I pushed the envelope as far as I could with him still liking it. I splurged and got a custom sofa and had electrical outlets put in the base so we could live our dream of laptop/TV multitasking. We took out the mirrored closet doors where the TV is and made these sliders."

Not a bad idea - hiding the television with huge slider doors. It's not the most original idea, admittedly, but it's simple and keeps the gigantic screen from detracting from the wonderful design seen throughout the rest of her house. Speaking of aesthetics.. let's take a quick look at her bedroom.

Man, just look at how quiet and serene that space looks. Not a desk in sight! We're sure there's a laptop laying around there somewhere... or not. Maybe hiding tech ain't such a bad idea after all...
