NTT Firmo Enables Data Transfer Through the Skin...

Apr 28, 2008

Wowsers. We are not sure what the long term effects of this are, but it could end up being a major way that info travels around. The skin would be like a USB cable that moves info to/from a computing device that you carry with you. Applications include downloading music, movies and tv shows and transfer of business card-type info... We can just envision the "Hold on, I am still downloading" handshake etiquette that will invariably develop around the use of this product.

You could go to your local coffee shop and shake hands with a certain someone and have the blueprints for the Death Star transferred directly into your pocket. No Bothans would need to die. One catch that we can see: it creates a weak (read: mild) magnetic field in the user's body that is above the normal electricity that our bodies function with. According to anyone who makes any money on this, you wont notice the extra charge.
