There aren't that many people who relish waking-up with a blaring alarm clock. The fact of the matter is that most of us do. Now imagine if your significant other gets up earlier than you. You'll have to wake-up twice. It's been reported that disturbing sleep will make you really tired. Philips' Wake-Up Light offers an innovative solution.

The Wake-Up Light wakes you up gently by simulating a gradual sunrise. The light is set 30 minutes before you actually want to wake-up, this way it doesn't jolt you awake at the last minute. The light can also simulate nature sounds, like singing birds and babbling brooks if you're unsure that light will be enough to get the job done. Naturally, the Wake-Up Light comes with all of the usual functions that alarm clocks have, such as a digital FM radio, digital clock, LCD screen and more. The brightness of the light can go up to 400 lux. It's been proven that 250 lux are enough to work on the hormones in your body to wake-up full of energy. 400 lux is the intensity of a normal sunrise or sunset.

Now it seems that a gentle waking-up process makes you more alert and readier to tackle the day. The Wake-Up Light comes in two models, HF 3451 and HF 3461, and is available in Europe for about $178.
