Tips: Building a Cat Tunnel in Your Home

In our recent house tour of Adam's Cat-Haven Condo, we showed the custom-built cat tunnel Adam made for his cats Jonas and Ezekiel. Adam is a neat-freak and wanted to keep the litter box out of sight in his small condo. Below are Adam's instructions on how to install one in your home...

To install the cut tunnel, cut a hole in the dry wall, place an open box in the hole, add some supports, and then put trim around the outside to make it look pretty.

On the other side of the wall, inside the closet, Adam installed Ikea shelves and left space at the bottom for the litter box. Adam also uses a bungy cord to keep the litter box in place.

Last step: Adam showed his cats that he was putting their litter box in the closet. Jonas and Ezekiel are curious. They crawled through the tunnel to find the litter box and like the private location.
