Your entryway is the gatekeeper to the rest of your home, fighting against the road salt, melting snow, and mud tracked in this time of year — not to mention all the people passing through with mail, coats, groceries, and other gear. This weekend, help this hard-working space do its job by giving it a little TLC, clearing it of the mess and dirt.
This Weekend's Assignment: Spend a little quality time with your muddy, messy entryway or mudroom and set it to rights.
Do a Cleaning Blitz
But don't worry, it won't take long to make it through this checklist and turn this high-traffic spot into a sparkling clean zone. Just go through and knock each task off your list, one at a time.
Pick Up Some Flowers for the Entryway
Cut flowers are one of life's little luxuries that make your home feel loved and complete. Even the act of buying them feels like a special treat — especially since they're pretty affordable as splurges go! They are beautiful, add life and movement to the space, and help purify the air. Pick them up on Friday if you can, and enjoy them all weekend long.
Do a Little Sprucing
If you're up for it, keep going! There are so many ways to make your entryway prettier, more organized and inviting. Bring in the things that will make your life easier, and create storage so everything has its own place. Or, find a way to give the space a little style boost!
Remember, as with all of our Weekend Projects, just do what you have the time and energy to do. If you only get a change to sweep, pat yourself on the back anyway. Because it's cleaner than it was yesterday!
