What’s better this time of year than curling up on your couch, putting on a movie, and getting scared out of your mind? It is Halloween, after all! But with so many great options out there, how do you pick the one horror movie that will truly get your heart racing and your palms sweaty? One suggestion: Look to the stars. Whether it’s a movie that preys on your deepest fears or one that takes your most defining characteristics and places them into a nightmare situation, following your zodiac sign to that perfect scary movie is a great way to ensure a fun and terrifying Halloween night.

Take a look below at our suggestions for the best horror movie based on your zodiac sign:

If You’re an Aries (March 21 – April 19): “Split” (2016)

Aries is a fiercely independent leader, they are highly competitive, and they believe that taking over a situation ensures they get their intended outcome. This need for independence might make watching M. Night Shyamalan’s 2016 psychological horror movie about a murderer with 23 different personalities fighting to take control not just scare an Aries, but stress them out. Way too many cooks in the kitchen for an Aries.

If You’re a Taurus (April 20 – May 20): “The Exorcist” (1973)

A Taurus has tremendous willpower, is extremely persistent, and can sometimes be quite stubborn and possessive. You know who else that describes? That demon that takes over Regan MacNeil’s body in the 1973 classic horror film “The Exorcist.” That demon just won’t quit, will it?

If You’re a Gemini (May 21 – June 20): “A Quiet Place” (2018)

Geminis are social butterflies who love to talk to everyone. Wouldn’t the scariest thing to them be the inability to make a sound? In this John Krasinski and Emily Blunt-led 2018 smash hit, making even the smallest noise could be fatal. The family we follow in “A Quiet Place” have adapted to this new way of life, but could a chatty Gemini? They’re probably sweating just reading this description.

If You’re a Cancer (June 21 – July 22): “The Conjuring” (2013)

If you’re a Cancer and you’re looking for a movie to scare you twice-over this Halloween, why not choose one that takes something you love and turns it into your enemy? Cancers love being home, taking care of their home, and a plethora of home-based activities. In “The Conjuring,” demonologists Lorraine and Ed Warren come to the assistance of the Perron family, who are living in a farmhouse in Rhode Island and being terrorized by supernatural beings. The Warrens come to find that the entire house needs to be exorcised.

If You’re a Leo (July 23 – August 22): “Carrie” (1976)

Leos are typically high on the social food chain—they are popular and they love it. So “Carrie,” a gory ’70s classic in which the popular kids get their comeuppance at the hands of the titular high school outcast, might be truly horrifying. Plus, there’s a lot of blood.

If You’re a Virgo (August 23 – September 22): “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991)

Intelligent. Methodical. A deep need to always be in control. The person you go to for advice. Hannibal Lecter must be a Virgo, right? He might be a cannibalistic serial killer, but he’s who the FBI goes to when they need help with an open serial killer case. He knows exactly how to play Clarice Starling and seems to be one step ahead of her, pushing her the way he needs to, from the moment they meet. This psychological thriller will stay with you long after Halloween.

If You’re a Libra (September 23 – October 22): “Halloween” (1978)

Libras hate being alone. But what if you were never alone? What if your every move was being followed by a psycho stalker in a creepy mask? Then maybe you’d re-think your deepest desire, right, Libra? Not to totally freak you out or anything, but we suggest watching the original “Halloween” and seeing how one of your defining characteristics can be used against you. It’ll be extra-scary that way!

If You’re a Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): “It” (2017)

Pennywise, the resident clown demon of “It,” is one of the scariest horror movie villains of all time, so this movie is a great option for anyone looking to watch something spooky on Halloween—but Scorpios might connect with it more than anyone else. The adaptation of Stephen King’s novel follows a group of childhood friends as they attempt to figure out who or what is terrorizing the children of their small town every 27 years. Scorpios are known for their bravery, pursuit of the truth, and strong, enduring friendships. Sounds like they have a lot in common with the kids from Derry, Maine.

If You’re a Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): “The Blair Witch Project” (1999)

A Sagittarius loves to explore the world looking for answers and enjoys being outside. They would totally understand the urge to head out into the woods to debunk an old legend. And what’s scarier than relating to people who suffer an insanely scary tragedy, scarier than thinking that maybe that could be you holding up the camera to your face and admitting that you’re afraid to both close and open your eyes? Maybe you’ll think twice before heading out on your next adventure.

If You’re a Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): “The Ring” (2002)

Oh, you Capricorns. When you have a goal in mind, you’ll never stop working toward achieving it. But it’s not like you’ll do just anything to get to the finish line—you’re highly organized and you follow the rules laid out before you, patiently toiling away. You may want to wreak havoc on the earth, but you’ll wait the prerequisite seven days after someone watches your videotape to come crawling out of the TV set and kill them. There are rules even to curses, after all!

If You’re an Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): “Scream” (1996)

Aquarius is the intellectual sign of the zodiac. They’re typically deep thinkers and problem-solvers, so you’re run-of-the-mill “don’t go upstairs, you dummy” horror flick might not cut it for these folks. But a movie that satirizes horror tropes and plays with its own genre to create something fun, clever, and scary? That sounds like it might be the perfect fit for this sign.

If You’re a Pisces (February 19 – March 20): “The Shining” (1980)

There’s nothing that a Pisces would like more than a few months in a remote location where she or he can work on whatever creative endeavor is their passion. But to watch a writer, like Jack Torrance, be driven to madness while in said remote location, well a Pisces might be re-thinking that artistic retreat they had planned over the winter.
